in 1949 as The Magazine of Fantasy, the publication changed its
name to The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction with its second
issue and has retained that title until the present.
A
British edition published two series, one from 1953 until 1954 and
the second from 1959 until 1964.
An
Australian edition was published for several issues between 1954
and 1958.
Venture
was introduced as a companion magazine in 1957. It was 'absorbed'
into The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction from 1968 until
1969, when it was reissued again under its own name.
The
British edition was a reprint edition, published from 1963 until
