"You don't respect those people very much, because you're young and arrogant. But I don't respect them very much either, because I'm old and wise."

Electrical Experimenter was a technical publication published by Hugo Gernsback's Experimenter Publishing Company. It occassionally, and with increasing regularity, published stories that would eventually become known as science fiction. Its first issue was printed in May, 1913. The publication changed titles to Science and Invention with the August, 1920 issue and ceased publication with the August, 1931 issue.

Both publications featured cover art that was often of a science fictional or fantastical nature and, just prior to introducing Amazing Stories, Gernsback published a special 'scientification' issue of Science and Invention. Acceptance of this special was high and confirmed Gernsback's theory that a regular magazine devoted entirely to such fiction would be well received.
