Did somebody write a non positive review on AVATAR ? ..hmm i guess this guy must have had a big party the evening before, and went to the movie with a big hangover ? Anyway, I loved it an was very impressed. And for a movie of 2 hours and 40 minutes, ....i was over before i noticed it, nope i didnt fell assleep, it simply was that entertaining ! Cameron is alway very thorough, and so was this magnificent product of him. I am a Cameron fan anyway. When the film industry produces a great movie, many times the will produce a second one, and in 99% of the cases its just a bunch of crap. Cameron however did Aliens after Alien and it was as good as the first movie. But enough about Cameron. The movie shows you a eye-caressing world, with clear parallels to the aquatic life here on Earth. The story also has parallels to the Amazone region, and what is happing there. This SF-movie even has fantasy roots, so is acceable for a wider range of viewers. In a time were the numbers of cinema-visitors are growing again, This movie is one of those you must go and see, because a possible downloaded version of it on your computer is no match for the cinema one !

tongue in cheek Gary. Obviously he liked it. Why? That is the realm of speculation. I offered nice meals. Could be brain damage, burnout, too many drugs in the 60s or something else. The review begs for an explanation...

"I don’t know what Roger Ebert was thinking – maybe invites to some nice parties or something"

Suggesting that Roger alters his reviews because he wants to go to some party: you really don't know Roger in the slightest. The idea is ludicrous.

Haven't seen Avatar yet, but I should point out that hexapedal, quadripedal and bipedal (not to mention octopedal, multipedal and legless) creatures evolved side-by-side within our ecosystem, so I don't see why it shouldn't happen elsewhere.
