MORE ABOUT READERCON (and WORLDCON T-Shirts!)

I have now purchased my membership, so am officially “going”.

I doubt very much if I’ll make Thursday (I’ve got about a 90 minute drive to the con and won’t be staying locally), will most certainly be there for ALL of Friday (got to get those photos of the Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award ceremony) and might make Saturday as well.

I’ve gone over the guest list and the book sellers list and see a fair number of names I recognize and/or people I know.

I intend to blog from the event and my laptop’s cover will feature a large Crotchety Old Fan logo for easy recognition. This one -

I’d appreciate anyone who knows me/reads the blog stopping by if they see my laptop (or just me) – I want to try and do as many ‘live’ visit posts as I can.

I’ll buttonhole people too – but the highlight will certainly be the Smith Award pics.

I’ll also be wearing one of my Classic Hugo Winners t-shirts in yet another effort to spur sales.

Oh – what’s a Classic Hugo Winners t-shirt you ask?

It is a licensed product (licensed from WSFS) that features the names of ALL of the Hugo Award Winners from the first awards up to 1984 (classic being defined as 25 years old or older).

WHAT? is the key, you ask?

A space has been left next to each Worldcon’s entry on the shirt that can be filled in with acronyms/abbreviations for your participation at that con.? If you were on the committee, a staff person, attended, supported, etc.? I’ve supplied a set of suggested abbreviations for these activities in the key.? Now you can walk around the con and impress everyone with a personal history of your Worldcon Fanac!

The Worldcon Fanac shirts are also available with any of the fronts shown above, or with a blank front.
