The Science Fiction Pantheon

While searching for some images for the Classic Science Fiction Channel (I’m going to be adding a couple of films and a WHOLE BUNCH of educational/historical/fannish oriented links today) I happened across a gallery of photos from the 1957 London Worldcon on EFanzines.com.

Wow.? In particular, this photo of John W. Campbell, 4E Ackerman and Sam Moskowitz really just blew me away.

Sadly, all of them are gone now.? But the sheer volume of history sitting at that table is absolutely overwhelming.

My second favorite photo from the gallery is JW Campbell and H. Beam Piper shaking hands.? The physical mismatch is priceless.

Oh and don’t miss the very young Bob Silverberg.

  1. Of course you wrote the names earlier.

I assume that is left to right in picture?

  2. It would be helpful if you could tag who is who in the picture. Some of us are too young or new to genre to match names with pictures.

    Thank you.
