New Movies for Classic Science Fiction Channel

heavy_metal_1981The activity that has been tying up my time lately is transferring all of the Classic Science Fiction Channel’s content onto a new site;? I’m setting it up as another ‘blog’ (really just using the wordpress CMS to run it) and there is an awful lot of stuff to reformat, layout and etc.

In the meantime, I continue to hunt up new sources for more classic science fiction films and have found www.crackle.com.? Crackle belongs to Sony entertainment and has some quite current materials as well as -

HEAVY METAL, the quasi-animated movie based on the magazine (edited by Ted White of Amazing Stories fame for a bit) and based on the French graphic magazine Metal Hurlant.? This is the mag that featured artists such as Moebius and Corben and did some killer worker during the 70s and 80s.

The movie was a wowser when it was first released – the imagery from the Liberator bomber being taken over by zombie-skeletons scene stays with me to this day.

It’s not up on the site yet – gotta finish adding the old stuff before I get into the new, but you all might want to check it out.

For Godzilla fans, Crackle has a pretty complete selection of giant lizard movies as well.
