Bookends for Movies

The other day I put up what I thought was a pretty good list of science fiction films that were based on science fiction novels.

Today, John Scalzi (the Hugo Hatrick Man) talks about novelizations of films – which works things from the other direction.

He correctly (in my opinion) identifies Alan Dean Foster as the uber novelizationist and, serendipitously, I just featured Dark Star here, which John points out was Foster’s first offering in this specialist sub-genre.
