Norman Spinrad Embraces Social Networking

Norman Spinrad is one of my all-time faves; I actually used an anthology he edited in a class on science fiction back in the 70s; I love Bug Jack Barron, Men in the Jungle, Agent of Chaos, The Solarians, A World Between, Void Captain’s Tale & etc., etc., etc; my fanzine ran an interview with him back in ‘78 and when I saw him on Facebook, I immediately ‘friended’ him and he was gracious enough to accept.

My favorite story is hanging out with him and my college girlfriend at a room party somewhere in NYC and while I waxed eloquent in all my nerdy, fannish, geeky way about SF, Norman was persuing the more pedestrian route of chatting up the girlfriend.

Anyway, Norman has posted a video-bibliography of his works on Youtube and linked to it from his Norman Spinrad Appreciation group on facebook.

He’s got a bunch of other videos up as well and they’re worth the look
