The
first one I ever sold, to Action Pursuit Games, a 'new'
magazine I learned of while being intreviewed about paintball
by the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper:
About
two years before I founded the National Professional Paintball
League (NPPL) in November of 1992, I had an organization that
worked towards improving rules, team-even promoter relations
and game statistics. Originally called the National Paintball
Statistics and Ranking Society (NPSRS) I changed the name
to the World Paintball Federation - WPF. All but one of the
regular publications serving the industry reproduced my monthly
team rankings. I used a modified form of the World Chess Federation's
ranking system. Below is one magazine featuring the WPF.
My
original team - The Muthers of Destruction (the name was inspired
by Zappa's band and the movie The Boys From Company C) - made
it into the first industry listing of national paintball teams
published in Paintball Magazine in 1989 (Check out the New
Jersey entries).
