The Rim Worlds Concordance consists of three indices.

The Category Index organizes items from the various works according to broad categories such as Beverages, Ship Names, Planets, etc. Items are then listed alphabetically within each of these subjects. Each entry has an associated story code that identifies the source of the entry.

The Subject Index cross-indexes an alphabetical listing of the items with the Categories those items can be found listed under in the Category Index. To find all Subjects related to a particular item, use this index.

The Page Index organizes the items alphabetically by name, followed by a listing of the work(s) and page numbers within those work(s) in which that item can be found.

The References page contains the Story Codes, Publications Codes, the Category list and definitions, the source materials used for this effort and a current listing of the titles entered into the database to date.
