Assignment Outer Space. 1960. Journalists in space!

This is one of those movies that was obviously intended for the Saturday afternoon matinee crowd (back when there were still such things as Saturday matinees).

I think I suffered through this movie about six times on one of those late nite horror/sf tv shows. And that's about all I remember.

The story features a newspaper reporter assigned to cover a space satellite beat. He ends up as he hero ('cause all the professional astronauts are too bent out of shape by his presence to do anything effective.
